Forests of the Boulder Watershed
This is the ~300k acres that I work in as Forest Program Manager. The Northern Front Range is special for its diversity across such a small area. Gaining 6,000' in elevation will do that.
As is often the case, it can be hard to choose which data to display, and further which to accentuate. I focused on the forest types using data from the Colorado Forest Restoration Institute, who has done some great work in modelling fire behavior in this part of the world. I also wanted to show the networks of diverse riparian areas, and overlaid that all on top of a basic basemap.
